To create cool spots in the heart of cities, Bonna Sabla partnered with Vertuo, a startup that develops modular and autonomous water solutions for green spaces, to design the Bocage Urbain.
The result of 5 years of R&D, the Bocage Urbain module consists of an innovative system for reusing rainwater and autonomous greening in cities. Bonna Sabla, Vertuo's industrial partner, is the exclusive manufacturer of the Bocage Urbain concrete module produced at its Cinq-Mars-la-Pile (37) factory. A turnkey solution, the Bocage Urbain facilitates the creation of green spaces that are self-watering and do not require access to land. The module is used to install landscaping where plants are irrigated by a clever rainwater recovery system. The Bocage Urbain system consists of modules incorporating a reservoir section to store rainwater and feed by capillary action a tank section composed of soil and plants. The rainwater, captured on the road by the system, allows irrigation and carries through the summer periods without risk to the plants.
Modular and easy to implement, Bocage Urbain can be installed anywhere in a simple trench and encourages the return of biodiversity to the city while overcoming poor soil quality.
This aesthetically pleasing solution contributes to the beautification of the landscape and urban uses (sidewalks, pedestrian zones, cycle paths, parking lots, etc.). Bocage Urbain has already been selected to green numerous spaces in Aubervilliers, Paris, La Défense, Courbevoie, Cannes, Le Mans, Marseille, Monaco, Nice, etc.
