Bjelin restructures its Ogulin 1 factory

The adjoining sawmill and pallet production will continue to operate normally.

For Fredrik Alfredsson, CEO: “In response to market developments and to support our vision of more sustainable flooring and furniture production, we will increase our production of veneers made with the revolutionary Woodura technology. This means that we will cease production of our single-strip, three-strip, and herringbone parquet floors and rebuild the Ogulin 1 factory.”

Traditional parquet floors have been particularly popular. However, with the introduction of the Woodura Planks and Woodura Herringbone 2.0 collections, the company anticipates a gradual shift towards these more sustainable and resource-efficient alternatives.

For Fredrik Alfredsson: “For those who still prefer traditional parquet flooring, we will continue to meet demand through enhanced collaboration with our Woodura partners.”

Expanding Woodura veneer production represents a major strategic step. “We are convinced that Woodura products embody the future,” emphasizes Fredrik Alfredsson. “The design possibilities and selection options are endless.” Beyond aesthetics, Woodura also offers significant environmental benefits. By optimizing wood use and reducing waste, the technology requires ten times less wood than other traditional options – thus increasing production while preserving more forests.
