Bio-Énergies Diffusion unveils the GéoCube, the first French plug & play geothermal power plant

Designed and developed in Toulouse, GéoCube is the first prefabricated geothermal power plant in France, delivered ready for connection. In a context of intense pressure on energy renovation, marked by the abrupt end of the MaPrimeRénov' grants, Bio Énergies Diffusion has chosen to expand and strengthen its business by transforming part of its expertise into a modular and replicable solution for commercial buildings.

A solid 2025 performance in a context of disruption for the sector

By 2025, the company boasted a turnover of over €7 million, a team of 30 engineers, technicians, and specialized geothermal field teams, and an annual growth rate of 35%, reflecting sustained momentum in its market. This foundation, built on over twenty years of field expertise, now enables Bio Énergies Diffusion to structure an industrial response to the current limitations of geothermal deployment through its latest innovation: the Géocube.

GéoCube: 20 years of fieldwork transformed into the first industrialized geothermal power plant in France

With GéoCube, Bio Énergies Diffusion is taking a major step forward for the French geothermal sector. For the first time, geothermal heat production is freed from the constraints of traditional construction sites thanks to a prefabricated solution, tested in the workshop and delivered ready to connect. Whereas geothermal boiler rooms are usually designed and assembled on-site, with long lead times and numerous unforeseen challenges, GéoCube is based on a modular, plug-and-play approach, designed to adapt to building constraints and ensure performance from the design stage.

This solution transforms expertise previously reserved for complex projects into a reproducible, controllable, and rapidly deployable format. This system thus provides heating, cooling, and domestic hot water with a very high level of energy performance, while significantly reducing installation risks and time.

By concentrating the entire technical room into a plug-and-play module, the GeoCube is a game-changer for the construction industry. Construction sites are simplified, deadlines shortened, technical risks reduced, and performance guaranteed from the design stage. Geothermal energy thus becomes a more transparent, predictable, and easily integrated solution for construction and renovation projects, even in the most challenging environments. A first successful field test: the Donneville school, a full-scale demonstrator of the GeoCube

The first geothermal plant was installed in the summer of 2025 for the school in Donneville, Haute-Garonne. The site presented a truly unique case study due to the significant constraints. The building had no technical room, was located in a protected historical area, and had to be equipped within an extremely tight timeframe dictated by the school calendar. In this context, traditional boiler room solutions were unsuitable. The use of the GeoCube enabled the deployment of a complete geothermal solution without the construction of a boiler room, by integrating the entire system into a prefabricated unit, delivered ready for connection. The installation was completed quickly, without any unforeseen site issues, despite a challenging architectural and regulatory environment.

The building has thus transitioned from energy-intensive electric heating to efficient geothermal energy, capable of providing heating, cooling, and domestic hot water. The building is now powered by a local, renewable, and carbon-free energy source, offering improved thermal comfort and energy performance that meets the community's requirements, all within the strict implementation deadlines.

From the Southwest to the national level: Bio Énergies Diffusion is changing its scale

Historically based in Occitanie, the company is now undertaking a nationwide rollout, relying on a network of local partners for the installation and maintenance of its solutions. This new structure allows it to address projects throughout France and make geothermal energy accessible to buildings that, until now, could not use it, particularly due to the lack of suitable premises or significant architectural constraints.

This national ambition is taking shape today with the signing of an initial commercial partnership with Le Bon Tuyau, marking the effective launch of commercial activity outside the Southwest. This is a strong signal, illustrating the ability of this innovation developed in Toulouse to quickly attract national players and extend beyond the company's historical area of ​​operation.
