Betic Branch Unveils Results of Study on Generative AI and Work Transformations

Initiated by the social partners and carried out between March and November 2024 by the Matrice and Plein Sens firms, this survey demonstrates a still marginal adoption of IAGs, despite their recognized potential in terms of performance and innovation.

Individual and poorly regulated uses

The study highlights a strong trend: generative AI is mainly used at the initiative of employees. 67% of respondents say they use this tool for professional and personal purposes. 57% believe that no framework has been defined by their company to organize its use. The three main tasks delegated to IAGs are editorial assistance, information synthesis and the creation of visual content.

Contrasting strategies: between caution and commitment

Faced with IAGs, three company profiles emerge:

• Pioneers, mainly large companies, are actively investing in these technologies with experimentation and training strategies.
• The wait-and-see players, often SMEs, are exploring AGI on a small scale but without a clear structure.
• The refractory, mainly VSEs, remain skeptical about the benefits and are focused on the risks of these tools.

Although 90% of users say they are quite satisfied with the use of IAGs, concerns about their deployment persist: unreliability of results, risks related to data confidentiality, lack of knowledge of how the tool works and possible weakening of human interactions in teams.

A need for supervision and skills development

The study also highlights a training deficit, with 86% of users having trained themselves on these tools. To maximize the potential of IAGs, companies must organize clear governance, strengthen training and adapt their strategy to their profile. Such a rigorous and anticipatory approach would make it possible to exploit these tools as levers for innovation while preserving the human dimension of work.

About the study

This survey, conducted among 628 employees and 477 managers, is part of an approach to observe and anticipate changes in work. It provides a valuable overview for companies wishing to integrate IAGs responsibly and effectively.
