AGC Glass Europe launches Stratobel Mirox, a laminated safety mirror

Stratobel Mirox mirrors are designed for wall coverings, partitions and other interior applications requiring guaranteed increased safety.

This new laminated glass mirror from AGC Glass Europe is available in two versions (Stratobel Mirox Mono and Stratobel Mirox Duo), to suit different applications, in all public and private spaces. Stratobel Mirox Mono combines a mirror and float glass and can be used, for example, as a wall covering in shopping centers, reception areas, restrooms, gyms, restaurants, bars, hotels, etc. to expand the feeling of space while playing on light and reflections. Stratobel Mirox Duo is a laminate composed of two mirrors assembled back to back and is suitable for various applications, including partitions or furniture.

Both versions of the Stratobel Mirox are made of laminated glass with one or two PVB (polyvinyl butyral) interlayers. Their silver layer is protected by a special lacquer, fully compatible and adhering perfectly to the PVB, all of which guarantees long-lasting and safe performance. In 33.1 or 44.1 structure (two 2 or 3 mm thick panes joined together by a single PVB), this laminated safety mirror falls into protection class 4B2 according to the EN 2 standard, which defines the safety levels and behavior of glazing in the event of breakage; the version with two PVB interlayers (12600 or 33.2) is classified 44.2B1 according to the EN 1 standard and P12600A according to the EN 2 standard, which defines the impact resistance of glazing.

Finally, with its very low levels of volatile organic compound (VOC) and formaldehyde emissions, Stratobel Mirox helps preserve indoor air quality. Stratobel Mirox meets even stricter requirements than those set out in EN1036-11 for standard mirrors. The silver layers of Stratobel Mirox are protected by a copper- and lead-free paint.
