A worker was killed on Tuesday December 9 in Toulouse during an accident on the construction site of the future line C of the metro of the Pink City, the transport authority Tisséo said in a statement.
According to La Dépêche du Midi, the man was crushed by a heavy machine weighing around thirty tons and could not be revived by the emergency services, who arrived "very quickly" according to Tisséo.
The accident, which occurred in the mid-afternoon at a station near Matabiau station, caused "no other injuries", added Tisséo, which announced the establishment of a psychological support unit.
This new metro line is scheduled to open in 2028.
Started at the end of 2022, its works had already been affected by the collapse of the deck of a viaduct, in March 2023 in the neighbouring town of Labège, which caused one death and three injuries.
