A first phase allowed artisans to vote and make their voices heard. Secondly, Laurent Munerot, Vice-President of the U2P, commented on the results of this consultation and recalled the essential role played by the U2P in the extension of this aid in 2021. All these elements are available on the site lavoixdesartisans.fr.
An essential lever for the training of young people
The debate made it possible to collect the opinions of craftsmen from all sectors and from all over France. It emerges that 93% of artisans want this aid to be perpetuated because it constitutes an essential lever for the training of young people, that they allow young people to be trained in good conditions and that apprenticeship remains the royal road to craft trades. Apprenticeship is indeed one of the oldest values of craftsmanship, the sustainability of which is based on the transmission of unique know-how and the precise gesture of the craftsman.
The sustainability of learning and professionalization aids is justified for the great majority of business leaders. Beyond the usefulness of financial support, these aids allow supervisors to take the time necessary for training young people without being subject to a concern for immediate profitability. This time left for training can only be beneficial for young people. However, some participants believe that aid could be more conditional on the size of the business.
A few divergent opinions were also heard to stress that aid should be more closely monitored in order to verify that its granting is relevant. Indeed, some participants argue that learning aids can sometimes be misused and diverted from their objectives.
Learning aids: a fight won by the U2P!
This first phase of consultation served as an introduction to the interview with Laurent Munerot. He notably recalled the importance of apprenticeship for craft businesses as well as the essential role played by the U2P in the Government's decision to extend this aid throughout 2021: “it was essential in these months of uncertainty that companies know where they are going, so we can be satisfied with that. However, we still have a few years of uncertainty ahead of us and we will have to continue to help companies ”.
This debate is now online on the U2P Youtube channel as well as on the website lavoixdesartisans.fr.
"LA VOIX DES ARTISANS", a participatory process of the U2P in view of the next electoral events
From January 2021, the U2P and all of its member organizations began to prepare the lists for the elections to the Chambers of Trades and Crafts scheduled for October 2021. At the exclusive service of craft companies, these lists entitled "La Voix des Artisans" aim to promote all the expectations of craftsmen in France.
Thus, to be as close as possible to the demands of artisans, the U2P has launched a participatory platform. Accessible from the site lavoixdesartisans.fr, this makes it possible to collect their opinions and proposals in order to enrich the list program and to make “La Voix des Artisans” heard during all the major electoral meetings to come.
A second debate already online: "Should we tax the transfer of a business?" "
To continue this participatory approach, “LA VOIX DES ARTISANS” has already planned a second debate on a theme at the heart of the life of the craft industry: transmission. Indeed, although craft companies represent a significant part of the French economic fabric with 1,3 million companies and 3 million workers, many craftsmen go out of business every year without even trying to transfer their activity. . Today only 10% of new craft business leaders are business buyers. It is already possible for craftsmen to vote for or against this proposal and to argue on the platform.
