26% increase in turnover for Vinci in the 3rd quarter, driven by international business

Vinci, the transport infrastructure construction and management group, announced a 26% increase in its turnover in the 3rd quarter, to 16,7 billion euros, driven by international business which represents more than half of the total, including construction and airport concessions.

After a total increase of 26% in its turnover over the first nine months of the year to 45,2 billion euros, the group confirmed that it is counting on a net result for 2022 "higher" than its level of 2019, reference year before the health crisis.

On the whole of the activity, the increase in turnover is nearly 8% in France (which represents 46% of the total) and 48% internationally (which represents 54% of turnover ).

Vinci, which has made 22 acquisitions since the start of the year, announced two more on Tuesday: the first relates to the IT services of the German group Kontron AG, and the second to the company TLT Building and TLT Connection in Finland in the field of energy infrastructure.

Over the first nine months, Vinci Construction saw its sales increase by 12% to 21,49 billion euros, benefiting in particular from the ramp-up of motorway and rail projects in North America, Australia and New Zealand, the HS2 high-speed line in the United Kingdom, and the preparatory work for the Femern link between Germany and Denmark.

Over the period, Vinci Energies saw its turnover increase by 9,6% to 11,9 billion, and Vinci Immobilier by 2% to 1,1 billion euros.

For Vinci Autoroutes, the increase in turnover amounted to 11%, to 4,6 billion euros, after in particular a 9,2% increase in traffic compared to the first nine months of 2021 (and 2,3% compared to the first nine months of 2019).

In October, motorway traffic in France was "affected" due to the shortage of fuel (linked to a strike by employees of oil groups), but this does not call into question the forecasts, indicated the group which expects to a "catch-up effect" on the highways with the All Saints holidays which have just started and the postponement of travel during the strike.

At Vinci Airports, revenue was multiplied by 2,6, to 2,02 billion euros against 778 million over the first nine months of 2021, but remains down 31% compared to the first nine months of 2019.

The number of passengers welcomed at airports in the Vinci network - 137 million over nine months - has "more than doubled" since last year, and stood at 69% of its 2019 level, the group said.

In total, the order book as of September 30 remains at a "historically high" level of 57,4 billion euros.
