Since the introduction of the patented system, numerous installations featuring the technology have been implemented to provide continuous building protection. Today, the manufacturer offers a new solution for mobile protection that is quick to set up.
AquaLOCK® Quickwall, for flexible protection
This year, the AquaLOCK® range, which until now was solely focused on continuous prevention-protection, welcomes a new product: AquaLOCK® Quickwall, a solution that works like a cofferdam.
A choice which again aims to meet customer demand. “Continuous prevention-protection solutions represent an undeniable advantage. However, we are aware of the heavy investment that the replacement of all closures can represent. With AquaLOCK® Quickwall, we offer a mobile solution, based on the cofferdam model, but benefiting from all the AquaLOCK® technology. says Roland Kaiser. Thus, AquaLOCK® Quickwall prevents water from infiltrating by protecting windows, doors, patio doors and basement windows.
Flooding: a significant risk In France, one in three municipalities is affected by the risk of flooding to varying degrees. Over the period 1982 – 2021, floods alone caused €21,6 billion in insured damage, i.e. 53% of damage due to natural disasters according to the Caisse Centrale de Réassurance (CCR). However, these phenomena will increase in number and intensity, with significant financial consequences: “Covéa, a mutual insurance group, has modeled the damage that global warming will cause on property by 2050. The study by 2022 forecasts that in mainland France, losses linked to overflow flooding should increase by +110%; those due to surface flooding or torrential flooding should increase by +130%. explains Stephan Bleyer, Sales Director France AquaLOCK®. |
Flood protection with Quickwall: high watertightness
In terms of watertightness, the tested and certified system is distinguished by its high performance: installed in front of a door, AquaLOCK® Quickwall ensures 99% watertightness against flooding, for a water level of up to 1,2 m. This performance is ensured by the locking system which generates a high contact pressure on the adjacent parts of the building.
To guarantee sealing on buildings with irregular surfaces, the sealing elements are flexible and special connection profiles are available. Floor unevenness, on the other hand, can be compensated by a specially designed sheet metal plate, which is available as an option.
Thus, the building is not threatened by the infiltration of a slight leak; pollution carried by water and, more generally, dirt and the danger of flooding are therefore almost completely excluded.
Quick and easy assembly, without tools
The new solution installs with just one click, for simple assembly to ensure the best possible seal: the specially designed locking function allows quick assembly, without tools.
The ease and speed with which assembly is carried out make it possible to exclude a false maneuver in the event of an emergency. Furthermore, it is not necessary to clean the special profiles before installing the AquaLOCK® Quickwall system.
In addition to being able to protect various types of joinery, Quickwall can be installed in two ways, with mounting in or in front of the intrados depending on the situation.
With AquaLOCK® Quickwall, TBS offers a flexible flood protection solution. From now on, AquaLOCK® therefore represents a complete range which makes it possible to protect all types of buildings from losses incurred during floods and heavy rains.
