In barely 6 months, Boby has structured his offer in order to deploy it on a large scale and allow professionals in the sector to halve the time spent on administration.
The young start-up aims to reach 10.000 users by the end of the year and plans to open up internationally from 2025. In order to reach a market that has 700.000 building artisans, Boby is developing new functionalities and plans to recruit around thirty employees over the next three years.
A successful launch 3 months after its marketing
The fundraising carried out in 2022 enabled the start-up to change its scope. Beyond the 20 employees recruited in one year, Boby has seen a clear growth in its user acquisition rate as well as that of paying users. It is in the face of this good balance between supply and growing demand that it has already won over 1 French-speaking users and aims to reach 000 users by the end of the year and 10 by the end of the year. 'next year.
A few months after its launch, Boby has indeed recorded very positive signals: a recommendation rate of 90% from its users, a satisfaction rate of 95% and 92% indicating that they would not change for another solution.
Figures that can be explained by the proximity of the company to its community to offer it an offer in line with its problems. Knowing that late payments in the construction sector represent more than 25% of business bankruptcies, Boby decided to automate payment reminders and reminders in order to avoid oversights and human errors. The solution can thus reduce arrears by 40% on average.
An overflowing imagination to facilitate the daily life of the 700 building tradesmen
The young start-up draws its strength from its creativity by regularly offering new innovative solutions such as Estim'Express, a tool that allows prospects to receive an instant estimate of their work based on the rates of the craftsman.
Among the new features recently launched, the craftsman can now edit an estimate by voice command, from taking notes to dictating the estimate. Ease of use for professionals constantly on the move on construction sites. Another development proposed by Boby: the automatic integration of the reduced-rate VAT certificate after the issuance of each estimate. This document – although compulsory and requested during a tax audit – is very regularly incomplete or even missing. Boby will thus be able to follow up with the customer to ensure his signature and will go further by allowing him to sign it electronically.
"With Boby, we want to revolutionize the construction market with innovations that speak to craftsmen. Proud of our fun and offbeat DNA, it is thanks to this proximity that we can develop products that are simple, concrete and above all never seen before. This second round of fundraising will enable us to accelerate further to respond to ever-increasing market demand. Stay tuned!" enthuses Aurélien Rey, co-founder.
The start-up is also planning a changeover in July 2024 with the application of the finance law which will require all companies established in France to accept electronic invoices. It is thus ready to support building craftsmen on the path to digitalization from today, while guaranteeing the integrity and security of customer data.
Boby halves the time spent on administrative management
Boby was born in early 2022 in Bordeaux, driven by the ambition of its manager, Aurélien Rey, and his partner, Cédric Moncoqut, to digitize the construction sector. Multi-entrepreneur, Aurélien Rey had already co-founded the MIRA brewery before embarking on this new challenge.
Starting from the premise that building craftsmen must compose in one day between their work on site and administrative management in front of their computer, the company has bet on technological innovation to transform the way they organize themselves. While administrative management represents 10 to 25% of the working time of business leaders (Capeb), Boby halves the time spent by professionals on managing quotes, invoices, payments, etc.
Thanks to a structuring tech center, Boby is able to offer the creation of personalized quotes, mobile quotes, integrated payment solutions or even automatic invoice reminders. A performance enabled by a mix of artificial intelligence, machine learning and automation.
The start-up, which is only in its infancy, plans a gradual ramp-up with the hiring of around thirty people over the next three years and is preparing an international launch from 2025.
