Sylvania Lighting Wins Red Dot Design Award for Concord Equinox LED Downlight

Sylvania Lighting received the Red Dot Design Award 2023 in the Lighting Design category for its Concord Equinox innovation. The product's unique design redefines the downlight, with no visible central light source, allowing the user to feel the effect and not the impact of the light. The Concord Equinox combines innovation, flexibility and style, and gives any environment a very modern and elegant appearance thanks to its halo effect.

The Red Dot Design Award is one of the most popular design competitions in the world, with over 20 entries per year. For this year's edition, the Red Dot jury was made up of 000 experts from 43 countries.

Concord Equinox - A new benchmark in design

Concord Equinox has been developed using the latest optical technologies. The product has an adjustable optical system that allows the light to be emitted not only downwards but also upwards, creating a beautiful halo effect on the ceiling. This direct and indirect architectural lighting creates a unique atmosphere and enhances the space.

Concord Equinox was developed in partnership with QuarkStarTM, which provided the optical technology for this project. The light refraction system of QuarkStarTM makes it possible, for the first time, to integrate an indirect component in a downlight without additional optics. The result is an elegant, discreet and conceptual design that also produces a controlled distribution with a UGR (Unified Glare Rating) of less than 19, which places Equinox in the highest quality classification of European standards in interior lighting.
