Placing innovation and design at the heart of its growth strategy, the French SME, which has 5 design offices, has since continued to develop by devoting 15% of its turnover to Research & Development each year. . As shown by :
- the creation of 1er suction cup headband in 1998 which revolutionized the locking market
- the launch, in 1999, of the essential Digicode coded keypad® of which it is the historical manufacturer
- the design and marketing, in 2019, of the highly secure Atrium Krypto access control system thanks to end-to-end encryption
Having become a major player in its sector with more than 700 references, CDVI is recognized both by customers (electrical distributors, hardware stores) and by users (installers, end consumers) for the quality and reliability of its products guaranteed for 10 years and labeled Origine France Garantie.
Today, the group with an international influence has more than 280 employees (150 people in France) and 23 subsidiaries around the world, the last of which opened in 2020 in Germany, spread over 14 countries in Europe, the United States, Asia and Africa. In 2022, CDVI achieved a turnover of €66,5 million, 70% of which was exported.
A sustained investment policy at the Bury production site
Established since 2000 in Bury in the Oise department, the CDVI plant is located on 3,5 ha of land in the heart of the Hauts de France region. Within two buildings with a total area of 8.000 m2, it assembles all of the group's locking and access control references and has extensive know-how in electronics with production lines dedicated to the manufacture of SMD components which are at the heart of its solutions. .
With a production capacity of 108.867 electronic cards, 900.000 finished products and 26 million components in 2022, it employs 48 people.
Anxious to relocate the production of its electronic cards to French territory and to reduce the environmental impact linked to its activity as much as possible, CDVI has invested nearly €2 million for:
- €1 million for the installation of a new SMT component installation line using jetting technology, which combines speed and high precision in the deposition of solder paste. In addition to reducing waste, it optimizes the flexibility of the line and thus improves responsiveness. Entered into service at the end of 2022, this equipment benefited from 50% of the support of the ERDF (European Fund for Regional Development) as part of the REACT-EU recovery mechanism
- €500.000 for the acquisition of a machine dedicated to the tropicalization of electronic boards in order to improve the process by replacing the use of traditional black resin with a protective varnish. Delivering just the necessary quantity of product, this reduces production costs and above all generates less pollution
- €120.000 in a press intended for the manufacture of its eco-designed suction cups in order to reduce water consumption. The arrival of a second press is expected later this year.
- €200.000 in 2023 to install photovoltaic panels and switch to 100% LED lighting, which will help reduce its energy consumption by 50% per year
Another advantage of these investments: a substantial gain in productivity since the Bury site should triple its production capacity to reach 330.000 electronic cards and 78,4 million components (i.e. 56.000/hour) each year.
Suction cups with a controlled ecological footprint
Inventor of the suction cup headband 25 years ago, CDVI remains the leader in this market with its range of EVO locking solutions, which it has constantly developed to make it:
- even safer, and thus meet the various regulatory requirements (EI30/EI60 fireproof certification, NFS 61-937 approval authorizing its installation as an Actuated Safety Device on emergency exit doors)
- more robust with its 200 mm handle, exclusive to CDVI which offers better resistance against vandalism
- easier and quicker to install thanks to the suction cups and connection terminals already pre-installed on the technical pole
- and more aesthetic thanks in particular to the covering of old installations but also to the customization options (dimensions, number of suction cups, RAL color of your choice) for harmonious integration in all establishments
But beyond these technical improvements, this range of now eco-designed headbands illustrates CDVI's desire to reduce the environmental impact linked to its activity as much as possible and to promote sustainable development.
The company has, in fact, reviewed the entire manufacturing process for its range, from the choice of raw materials to packaging and transport by:
- selecting, for the design of the strips, a more ecological and low carbon aluminum (Reduxa®) produced using renewable energy. This initiative allows CDVI to significantly reduce C0 emissions2, up to 450 tons
- reducing cardboard packaging by 5 m2 the equivalent of 25 tennis courts at Roland Garros
- removing from these, 20 km of adhesive tape and 100 m3 of foam wedges, which represent respectively 67 Eiffel Towers and the volume of 2 years of water consumption for one person
In addition to thus becoming one of the most ecological ranges of strips on the market, EVO guarantees, with its suction cups with a retention force ranging from 300 to 900 kg, reliable closing of all types of doors. Enough to cover all locking needs regardless of the type of building (tertiary, collective housing), including in public buildings
