20th edition of the AQC Photo Competition: images at the service of quality in construction!

With a strong slogan, Avoid building disorders, learn through images!, the nineteen previous editions demonstrate the usefulness of these images in the service of building quality. They echo the prevention mission that is at the heart of the AQC's actions. The student.ey category makes perfect sense: many educational managers have understood its interest for their students by integrating it into their programs.

Thus, more than 4.000 photographs have been sent to the AQC since the competition was launched in 2006!

The focus must be on disorders in the building in the broad sense: whether it is for collective or individual use, industrial or tertiary.

Through images, the AQC raises awareness on a daily basis about the importance of respecting good practices in construction. And what could be more educational and easily understandable than an image? From common pathology to exceptional disasters, disorders take all sorts of forms.

Like every year, the jury will reward the best photographs on the basis of precise selection criteria. If the disorder must be clearly identified visually, the detailed technical explanation of the defect in the construction or use of the building must support the photograph submitted to the jury.

The only constraints imposed on participants are to photograph a building in operation (not a building left abandoned), and located on metropolitan or overseas national territory.

Photos retrieved from the Internet or resulting from montages will be excluded from the jury's examination.

Launched on December 15, 2024, the AQC 2025 Photo Contest will close on March 31, 2025.

Participation files must be completed online here, attaching the high-resolution digital file(s) of the photos, as well as a detailed text explaining the cause(s) of the disorder and the location where the photo was taken. The competition rules and the exploitation authorization must also be completed and accepted online.

Participants compete in one of the following 2 categories:

• General Category: construction professionals or individuals;
• Student category: students, high school students, apprentices.

Each candidate is free to send one or more images, the number of photos is not limited.

Win many prizes in gift cards and an exhibition at the end

The jury, made up of construction professionals, will distinguish, in each category, a first and a second prize and, possibly, a “Special Prize” of the same amount as the 2nd prizes in each category.

General Category

• 1st prize: worth 1.000 € incl.
• 2nd prize: worth € 500 including tax

Student Category

• 1st prize: worth 500 € incl.
• 2nd prize: worth € 250 including tax

The winning photos and a dozen distinguished photos from each category will be exhibited at the 27th Rendez-vous Qualité Construction, on June 19, 2025, in Paris, and posted online on the AQC website with photos from previous editions.
