2024 Olympics: Solideo once again returns around thirty million euros to the State and local authorities

This structure, responsible in particular for building the Olympic village, is currently transforming the village's housing into a residential version and will continue its work for several more months on around twenty structures.

"The amount of public funding, in current euros and including inflation, required for the construction of the Olympic facilities has increased from 1,681 billion to 1,648 billion current euros, representing a return of 32,9 million euros to the State and local authorities," it said in a press release following a board meeting.

Solideo had suffered from inflation in the wake of the war in Ukraine.

To cover inflation in 2022, a budget of €61,3 million was approved in the 2023 Finance Bill. Local authorities also helped cover this additional cost. In July 2021, due to inflation, Solideo increased the public portion by €175 million (from €1,38 billion to €1,55 billion).

In addition to the public share, which now stands at 1,648 billion euros, the budget also includes 2 billion in private investments and additional funding from local authorities, particularly for "legacy".

In total, Solideo's budget is around 4,4 billion euros.
