AMCC's 2023-2026 investment plan for the Châteauroux plant (36)

This project is now coming to an end and is already showing concrete results from an environmental and human point of view, but also in terms of quality and productivity.

The energy transition at the Châteauroux site is accelerating.

With a surface area of ​​4.500 m²The new building, whose construction began in the summer of 2023, has been completed. It houses a 4^rd assembly line as well as a workshop entirely dedicated to the manufacture of its Alya range of mixed windows, whose success continues unabated.

Wishing to significantly reduce its carbon footprint, the Châteauroux production site, which covers 23.000 m²² is now equipped with a surface area of ​​1.970 m² of photovoltaic panels installed on the roof of the brand new building. In total, 886 panels with a total power of 320 kW were installed.

Started in early April 2025, the energy production of this photovoltaic installation covers 50 to 90% of the site's annual electricity needs and up to 80% during the day, depending on the season.

With the plant shut down on weekends and spring holidays, as well as for a large part of August, AMCC lacks the capacity to consume its own production. The decision was therefore made to sell all the energy produced by the facility, which is then fed into the grid and compensated through the purchase agreement.

Investments to ensure employee safety and the continuous improvement of joinery

As part of the key pillars of its CSR strategy, ensuring the safety of its operators and providing an excellent customer experience in terms of both product and service quality are illustrated by the investments made at the industrial level.

Totaling €4,95 million, they concern:

• The replacement of a welding line for window and door frames with a fully automated line. Beyond optimizing intermediate storage and the finishing of the joinery, this allows for a 70% reduction in handling thanks to automated transfers that move the products flat, without the need to turn them over. In addition, there is a reduction in the amount of hardware screwing required by operators, tasks now performed entirely by a robotic unit at the end of the process. The result: a 25% increase in productivity, but above all, a 20% increase in production capacity, as well as the complete elimination of any risk of musculoskeletal disorders for production staff.
• The acquisition of a new SCHIRMER machining center, which performs all operations including profile reinforcement and eliminates all previous manual rework, effectively reduces productivity losses and limits the risk of quality defects.
• The installation of a SOLIDEA range glazing bonding robot, co-developed with a machine integrator. In addition to optimizing workforce productivity, it allows for a repeatable process, both in terms of the window frame alignment during bonding and the amount of adhesive applied.

Totaling €11,5 million, these investments confirm that AMCC is on track to achieve the quantifiable objectives outlined in its CSR roadmap by 2030. This is further reinforced by the implementation of its end-of-life joinery recovery and recycling program at its clients' premises, which enabled the recovery of 592 tonnes in 2025. Through AMCC's logistical resources, this joinery is integrated into a dismantling and materials recycling circuit, with the goal of reintegrating 80% of these materials into the manufacture of new products for the construction industry.
