20 years after its creation, ongoing experiments to facilitate the validation of acquired experience

Alongside school education and continuing education, validation of acquired professional experience (VAE) is the third route to certification. As such, it is one of the actions eligible for financing by the personal training account (CPF).

After 20 years of practice, this tool remains too little known and too little used. It does, however, constitute a real opportunity to gain access to qualifications and allows integration into long-term employment. It is also an effective lever for professional development and transition.

It therefore appears necessary to act in favor of a stronger mobilization of the VAE and a better securing of the course, particularly in the current context of economic transformations in connection with technological and environmental transitions, which require greater adaptability. skills to business needs.

VAE must also make it possible to meet the expectations of new audiences, including young people far from employment, with little or no qualifications, as well as workers alternating between short periods of employment and periods of unemployment.

To consolidate the VAE and facilitate its use, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Integration, wanted to launch an experiment in the old age sector – whose recruitment needs are significant – to remove the existing obstacles. , make access simpler and more readable, reduce delays and administrative procedures, while preserving the requirement and the quality of proof of the skills held. This experiment is in addition to other initiatives, in particular that conducted by the AT pros.

Led by Carine Seiler, High Commissioner for Skills, this experiment will provide food for thought for certifiers on the necessary changes to this skills recognition tool.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the VAE, the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Integration reaffirms its commitment to make this path to certification a fully mobilizable path for the benefit of active and needs of the economy.
