12 lessons to be learned from the "Heat pump in renovation" report published by the AQC

This report is made available to all stakeholders in renovation operations.

At a time when French and European regulations impose the hunt for energy expenditure and the reduction of CO2 emissions, increasingly energy-efficient buildings are being built or renovated, with the reduction in heating needs as a spearhead.

The 12 main lessons learned

The surveys carried out for this report are based on renovation programs comprising different types of heat pumps with a logic of improving the production of heat and, sometimes, cold. The different implementation situations encountered highlight 12 lessons to be taken into account in order to comply with regulatory principles, ensure comfort for occupants and guarantee the proper functioning of equipment over time.

Lesson 1:

Dimension the installation after a complete synthesis of the project data.

Lesson 2:

Take into account the scalability of the project when sizing the installation.

Lesson 3:

Check the adequacy of the equipment delivered with the prescriptions.

Lesson 4:

Check the compatibility between the electrical power available and the power required by the heat pump.

Lesson 5:

Provide technical rooms of sufficient size.

Lesson 6:

Anticipate accessibility to the different elements.

Lesson 7:

Completely insulate the refrigeration network.

Lesson 8:

Completely insulate the hydraulic network.

Lesson 9:

Display information about refrigerants.

Lesson 10:

Clearly identify the elements of the installation.

Lesson 11:

Characterize and transmit an installation.

Lesson 12:

Carry out regular and complete maintenance of the system.
