A French success story that will outperform the lighting market in 2024
With a turnover of 42 million euros, CLAREO confirms its status as a leading player in the lighting sector. Since its creation in 2012, the company has recorded an average annual growth of 25%, demonstrating its solidity and the effectiveness of its innovative strategy. According to the Financial Times 2024 ranking of growth champions, CLAREO ranks 51st among the 300 best-performing European companies over 10 years.
Also, international development, which began recently, has enjoyed notable success, representing 5% of turnover.
At the end of 2024, CLAREO had 103 employees, a 65% increase in staff since 2022, to support its rapid expansion. 18 new talents joined the company's ranks in 2024, 60% of whom are in the sales teams. CLAREO also stands out for having one of the largest design offices of lighting manufacturers in France, made up of 20 experts, as well as a sales team of 60 people.
With an ambitious target of 100 million euros in turnover by 2028, CLAREO intends to become the benchmark for professional lighting in France.
A unique positioning at the heart of its success
CLAREO's success is based on a unique model, which combines the technical expertise of a manufacturer at the forefront of innovation and unique logistics.
This controlled positioning across the entire value chain – from design to manufacturing, including direct sales and optimized logistics – allows CLAREO to offer innovative products and differentiating services.
With a product reliability rate at the best level reaching 99,8%, CLAREO is establishing itself as a trusted player. In January 2025, the company took a new step by increasing the warranty on its products to 7 years, a first in the lighting market.
Beyond its products, CLAREO offers unique services, reinforcing its role as an essential partner. With a 4-hour delivery capacity, one of the largest stocks in Europe and innovative tools integrating artificial intelligence, CLAREO offers its customers fast, reliable and intelligent solutions.
This model, based on excellence and innovation, makes CLAREO a key and visionary player, capable of anticipating its customers' expectations and responding to market challenges.
Energy savings equivalent to the consumption of a city like Bordeaux
In 2024, the sale of CLAREO products has enabled significant energy savings, equivalent to the annual consumption of a city like Bordeaux or Strasbourg. Thanks to its innovative lighting solutions, in particular its “SMART” technologies called “SENSOR”, the company enables professionals to achieve up to 80% energy savings by modernizing their existing installations.
Sales of motion-sensing products increased by 47% between 2022 and 2024, reflecting the enthusiasm for increasingly efficient and eco-responsible solutions. Since its creation, CLAREO has sold more than 11 million products and therefore now provides lighting to around 10% of the French population.
By combining innovation and positive environmental impact, CLAREO positions itself as a key player in the energy transition, offering its customers concrete and measurable results.
An actor committed to the planet
CLAREO is fully committed to a responsible approach, making the company a true pioneer in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the lighting sector.
Among its flagship initiatives, CLAREO developed the first Product Environmental Profiles (PEP), a complete analysis of the product life cycle. Today, 500 references are covered by these environmental sheets, demonstrating a rigorous, ambitious and still rare approach in the sector. Although time-consuming and financially demanding, this approach illustrates CLAREO's desire to offer ever more sustainable solutions.
CLAREO also places the eco-design of its lighting fixtures at the heart of its priorities, integrating this approach into each stage of the life cycle of its products. From manufacturing to use, including repairability and end of life, the company designs responsible and sustainable lighting solutions, in line with current environmental issues.
At the same time, the company has eliminated the use of plastic packaging, saving 2,3 million packages in 2024, or 75 tons of plastic. This significant environmental impact reflects its ambition to be a model of ecological sobriety.
